Kitchen plumbing

Kitchen plumbing encompasses such items as dishwashers, garbage disposals and kitchen sinks. The installation for this sort of plumbing is best left to professionals, however doing it yourself is not entirely impossible. If the idea of this appealing, it is necessary to obtain a permit beforehand. It is common for people to do such things themselves without any permit, but this can create problems when it comes time to sell the home.

The sink is probably the most basic element when it comes to kitchen plumbing. A sink may be mounted over the top of the counter or underneath it. Certain styles are specifically designed to be installed one way or the other. Other styles are capable of being installed either way.

A garbage disposal is a surprisingly simple fixture of kitchen plumbing to install. Most will work with a 3½“drain hole. Do not count on being able to find one which works with a 2½“drain hole as this is a very unlikely, if not impossible, find.
