Plumbing faucets
Plumbing faucets control the amount of water which leaves
a pipe in a building. They are commonly seen in kitchen and bathroom
sinks. They also show up in the sinks of work areas, bath tubs and some
outdoor locations.
Water pressure is controlled by plumbing faucets through the use of
a screw system. The handle of a faucet may lower or raise a washer which
enables or restricts water flow. It is possible to purchase a washerless
faucet. These versions experience less leakage problems.
Plumbing faucets generally control temperature as well as pressure.
They can do this by either having two separate hot and cold taps or
a single mixer tap. Generally, the single mixer tap will not only control
flow by moving up and down, but also control temperature by moving side
to side.
